The Federal Funding panel will explore the implementation methods of the once-in-a-generation federal funding made available by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
Through the IIJA, over $16 billion has already been allocated to our region, with over half of that money being used for roads, bridges, and major projects in all three states and over 20% toward mass transit projects. In this session, panelists representing federal, state, and local government will discuss the impact of the IIJA and IRA on economic development, transportation, and tech, and how the region can capitalize on these opportunities. They will also examine the crucial role infrastructure plays in upward economic mobility for residents, which projects are priorities, and if and how the work will or will not lead to a more environmentally sustainable region.
RPA thanks Guidehouse, Jacobs, McKinsey & Company, and AECOM for sponsoring complimentary virtual passes to the RPA Assembly panels!
