RPA applauds Governor-elect Mikie Sherill’s decision to both reappoint Kris Kolluri to head NJ TRANSIT and appoint him to head the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Kris is an outstanding public servant whose leadership of NJTRANSIT – and the Gateway Development Commission before that – demonstrates his ability to deliver large capital plans and improved service that New Jersey commuters and riders need and deserve. At the same time, by combining the leadership of these two agencies under one individual, Governor-elect Sherrill is restructuring New Jersey’s institutions to deliver better, more coordinated and more effective mobility services. Integrating transit and toll roads will create more opportunities and greater mobility options for a better future – especially as we approach the opportunity and challenges of hosting the FIFA World Cup. RPA congratulates Kris on his dual appointment and looks forward to working with him in this innovative new role.
