Brian joined RPA in 2019 as the Campaign Manager for the Public for Penn and Build Gateway Now coalitions, working with a variety of external partners to gather support for two of RPA’s most critical advocacy initiatives, before being named Communications Director in early 2022. During his time at RPA, he has also worked extensively on federal relief funding for the region’s transit agencies, housing reform in Connecticut, and increased capital funding for NJ Transit.

Prior to RPA, he ran the education coalition High Achievement New York, where he built statewide support for high academic standards during the New York State review process. He also served as Outreach Director for the NYC Department of Education’s Pre‑K for All expansion leading a team to provide citywide outreach over the first three application cycles.

As a political organizer, Brian managed the campaigns of Melinda Katz for Queen Borough President (2013), Dave Loebsack for Congress in IA‑2 (2012), and Jimmy Van Bramer for NY City Council (2009). He was Finance Director for Leonard Boswell for Congress IA‑3 (2010), and a Regional Field Director for Scott Murphy for Congress in the NY-20 Special Election (2009), among other roles.

Brian holds a B.A. from Grinnell College and an M.B.A. from CUNY’s Zicklin School of Business. He lives in Brooklyn with his family; spending energy running long-distance for personal sanity and chasing after his young children for fun.
