RPA enthusiastically applauds Governor Hochul and her team, as well as members of the Trump Administration and Equinor for reaching an agreement to lift the stop-work order on the Empire Wind 1 offshore wind project off the coast of New York. This agreement is a testament to the real promise of offshore wind in delivering well-paying jobs to skilled workers, building a new domestic industry, and providing much needed locally produced energy at a time of rapidly increasing demand and skyrocketing rates. It also demonstrates the power of perseverance. We hope this breakthrough is a sign of better things to come for domestic offshore wind production in our region and beyond.
