New Yorkers for Clean Air Coalition Statement in Response to Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting Rule

share

March 26, 2025 - The New Yorkers for Clean Air coalition today issued the following statement in response to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s release of the proposed greenhouse gas reporting rule:

“At a time when Washington is dismantling pollution reporting and transparency, we are encouraged that, as promised in the State of the State, the Hochul Administration has released the greenhouse gas reporting rule. Right now, toxic pollution is being pumped unabated into our air. This regulation is necessary to ultimately hold polluters accountable and implement solutions that will improve the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.

To hold polluters accountable, create jobs, clean our air, and deliver investments in transportation and other needed infrastructure, we need the Administration to advance the next two rules required for implementing New York’s cap-and-invest program.

There’s still critical work ahead, and we look forward to continued collaboration to advance a clean air program that delivers meaningful benefits for all New Yorkers.”
