RPA Statement in Response to the Small Group of Elected Officials Rallying This Afternoon Against Congestion Pricing

share

“The small group of members who are still opposing congestion pricing are playing politics with the future of New York. The region cannot grow and prosper without a reliable transit system. The actions of these members today are irresponsible given the magnitude of the MTA’s funding crisis, the daily experience of riders and the severe economic and environmental costs of our sputtering transit system. Rather than partake in press stunts, we urge these members to join the majority of members who are engaging in substantive discussions about how to govern our region and address one of its most challenging problems,” said Kate Slevin, Senior Vice President of State Programs and Advocacy, Regional Plan Association.
