RPA is pleased to announce the addition of five new members to its Board of Directors, who were elected to the 103-year-old organization at its November meeting. The leaders bring many years of expertise in the fields of real estate, infrastructure, and community development. They will join an esteemed group of professionals that help support RPA’s operations, set its strategic vision and reach its policy goals.
Andrew Brent
Senior Vice President & Head of Communications, Brookfield Properties

Andrew Brent is Senior Vice President and Head of Communications for Brookfield Properties, one of the world’s largest global managers of high-quality real estate assets, where he is responsible for media relations, government relations and community relations.
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2011, Andrew was Director of Consumer Public Affairs for Citi, where he oversaw communications for Citibank in the U.S. and helped establish Citi Bike in New York City. Previously, he was Deputy Press Secretary to New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
Andrew holds an MPA from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University. He is a Board Member of the YMCA of Greater New York and Reisenbach Philanthropies. Andrew lives in Brooklyn with his wife, son and daughter.
Subash Iyer

Subash Iyer is a partner at Kaplan Kirsch LLP, where he helps states, cities, transit agencies, and others advance their major projects and resolve novel, high-stakes regulatory and litigation matters.
Previously, as Acting General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Transportation, Subash served as Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s top legal advisor, leading the Department’s rulemaking agenda, streamlining processes to expedite project delivery, and defending landmark transportation and environmental policies. As Chief Counsel at the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Subash worked to implement the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and oversaw all FTA legal matters.
Prior to joining USDOT, Subash served as special counsel at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York.
Subash also brings a strong litigation background from private practice in Washington, D.C., where he helped deliver multiple Supreme Court and court of appeals victories for his clients. Subash began his legal career with three clerkships – serving as law clerk to Judge Jed S. Rakoff of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Chief Judge Robert A. Katzmann of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Subash grew up in New Jersey and is a graduate of Columbia University and New York University School of Law.
Andrea Kaufman

Andrea Kaufman is a managing director at PGIM Real Estate. Based in New York, Andrea is the head of sustainable investing.
Andrea is responsible for the oversight of a dedicated team of investors focusing on sustainability and impact strategies in real estate, private equity and private credit. These-fiduciary first strategies produce risk-adjusted, market financial returns for their investors. Andrea also oversees Prudential Financial, Inc. (PFI)’s $1B AUM impact portfolio invested from the firm’s general account.
Andrea has been a private markets investor for over two decades building innovative, global portfolios for financial return and mission alignment.
Prior to joining PGIM Andrea was vice president of Private Equity at Calvert/Morgan Stanley, a socially responsible mutual fund complex, managing the impact portfolio.
Previously, she was a general partner at a venture fund investing in early -stage companies in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Serving on boards and setting strategy, Andrea invested in disruptive technology companies.
Andrea has a bachelor’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University.

Doug partners with cities around the globe to identify solutions for critical urban and mobility challenges. With over fourteen years of experience in digital transformation and leadership, he has served in roles in government, as well as in the private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining Microsoft, Doug was a Fellow in the New York State Governor’s Office focusing on Technology & Innovation. He has been with Microsoft for the past four years, driving innovation in public sector initiatives worldwide.
Reggie Thomas

Reggie Thomas is the Head of Government Affairs for Google in New York, where he directs the company’s engagement with state and local government.
His extensive background encompasses two decades of experience in New York politics, government, and the private sector. Prior to joining Google, Thomas served in the First Deputy Mayor’s Office first as Chief of Staff, then Chief Policy Advisor, overseeing various mayoral offices focused on policy, planning, and innovation.
In the private sector, Thomas managed relations between the real estate industry and all levels of government as the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). He also worked as a Principal at Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies, providing strategic advice and advocacy for non-profits, trade organizations, and private companies.
Thomas’s career in city government includes experience across multiple administrations. He served as the First Deputy Director of City Legislative Affairs during the de Blasio administration and as Deputy Director & Senior Policy Advisor in the Bloomberg administration. His public service career began as a legislative and budget director for then-Council Member Leroy Comrie, followed by roles as staff director for the Queens City Council delegation, and an aide in the Manhattan Borough President’s Office.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Pace University.
