RPA has long championed the extension of the Second Avenue subway to connect the historically underserved communities of East and Central Harlem, and today we celebrate progress toward just that. Thanks to the dedicated funding from Governor Hochul and her counterparts in DC, today’s contract award marks a historic milestone toward not only of a vital system extension, but a major step in transit equity for Harlem.
