Current Chair, Raymond J. McGuire, will complete three-year term in spring of 2026
NEW YORK, NY – November 14th, 2025– Regional Plan Association (RPA) today announced it has initiated a search for a new Board Chair in anticipation of the completion of Chair Raymond J. McGuire’s three-year term of service. McGuire, who also serves as President of Lazard, assumed his position as Chair in 2023.
The process will be led by a Search Committee dedicated to identifying outstanding candidates who will guide the organization’s strategy, fundraising, and influence at the highest levels. The Chair plays a pivotal role in advancing visionary, research-driven policies that improve quality of life, strengthen infrastructure, foster economic growth, and promote equity across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The search process is anticipated to conclude in the spring of 2026.
RPA’s Board Chair’s priorities will be to strengthen the board as the tri-state metropolitan area’s most dynamic civic leadership group; increase unrestricted funding resources supporting RPA’s role as the independent, nonpartisan voice on the region’s most pressing challenges; and advance the Fourth Regional Plan’s vision through impactful research and advocacy.
