In 2019, the MTA will close L train service between Manhattan and Brooklyn to fix damage caused by Superstorm Sandy. A robust transit plan will be needed to serve the 225,000 riders who currently travel each weekday between the boroughs.
On November 15, join RPA, the L-Train Coalition and TransitCenter’s Jon Orcutt to discuss a new community-backed proposal for the L train closure. The comprehensive plan is based on RPA’s research, more than 1,000 rider surveys and dozens of meetings with stakeholders along the L train route.
Co-sponsors include BABAR, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Greenpoint Chamber of Commerce, Evergreen, Neighbors Allied for Good Growth, Riders Alliance, Transit Center, RPA, Transportation Alternatives, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Assembly Member Joseph Lentol, Assembly Member Latrice Walker, Senator Daniel Squadron, Council Member Steven Levin, and Council Member Antonio Reynoso.
The event is being held at the Automotive High School, 50 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. To RSVP, email [email protected].
