RPA is excited to announce the addition of two new members to our Board of Directors, and changes to our Board leadership. Paul Gertner, Chair of the Harbor Ring Committee, and Angela Pinksy, Google’s Senior Government Affairs Manager for New York and New Jersey bring their experience in economic development, mobility, and public affairs to the Board. Get to know them below!
In addition, the Board has appointed Hope Knight, President & CEO of Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, to become its co-Vice Chair. The Honorable Henry Cisneros, Vice Chairman of Siebert Williams Shank & Co., and Anaita Kasad, Partner at Guidehouse, are joining the Board’s Executive Committee. Their participation on the Board has been invaluable and we look forward to continuing to work with them to create an equitable, healthy, sustainable and prosperous region.
Paul Gertner, Chair, Harbor Ring Committee
Paul grew up in Brooklyn and has a Masters of Regional Planning from Cornell University. He began his career as a city and county planning director in rural Colorado, and later worked as a consultant in LA and as program manager at the California Energy Commission.
An avid cyclist, Paul has been on the Advisory Council of Transportation Alternatives since 2008. In 2012, he organized the Harbor Ring Committee to advocate for a 55 mile route around the NY harbor, including a Verrazzano bridge pathway, which continues to have community support. Recently, he generously supported and served on RPA’s Bikeway Advisory Committee which provided ideas and advice for The Five Borough Bikeway Report calling for a network of priority, high capacity, protected bike lanes in New York City.
Angela Pinsky, Senior Government Affairs Manager, New York and New Jersey, Google
Angela Pinsky is a Senior Government Affairs Manager at Google where she manages public and government relations in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area. In this role, Angela manages partnerships with government, community affairs and legislative issues from the tri-state region.
Previously, Angela served as Executive Director for the Association for a Better New York (ABNY), Senior Vice President for Management Services and Government Affairs at the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), and as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding during the Bloomberg administration.
Angela currently serves as a board member for the Civilian Complaint Review Board, Furman Center, Building Skills New York and is a Steering Committee member of the Association for a Better New York. She received her Masters in Urban Planning from New York University and her Bachelors of Arts from Johns Hopkins University.
