The purpose of this Master Plan is to define a clear vision and policy direction for the future of the Village of Freeport’s North Main Street Corridor and LIRR station area. Throughout the Visioning process, the goal was to work closely with the community to develop a Master Plan for the Village of Freeport’s North Main Street Corridor and station area that results in a ​“Better Freeport” for all residents and visitors.

The notion of ​“Building a Better Freeport” was the slogan for the Visioning initiative, and has carried over into the preparation of this Master Plan. It is recommended that the Village adopt this Master Plan and pursue the available funding sources (as detailed in Chapter 3) to implement the Plan’s recommendations.
