Today’s announcement by Governor Hochul demonstrates that the state of offshore wind in the region is strong. Through a competitive process, two projects that were advanced in their development but threatened by the reverberations of the global pandemic - including inflation and supply chain issues - have re-emerged stronger and with even greater benefits to the state and local communities. In addition, commitments to offshore wind ports in the agreement will ensure good and meaningful jobs, while positioning the region as a hub for offshore wind development.
