The following statement can be attributed to Rob Freudenburg, Vice President, Energy & Environment, Regional Plan Association:
Offshore wind is alive and well in New Jersey. Today’s award of 3,742 MW of offshore wind capacity by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities sends a clear signal that the State of New Jersey continues to see offshore wind as an essential piece of our renewable energy future that will help communities breathe cleaner air, have fair access to meaningful, good paying jobs, and avoid the very worst impacts of climate change. This is a huge win for the future, right here in New Jersey, and RPA looks forward to helping make this vision become reality in the years to come.
