Statement from Congestion Pricing Now Coalition on Traffic Mobility Review Board Appointees

share

New York, NY - The following statement can be attributed to the Congestion Pricing Now coalition.

“On behalf of our coalition of transit, environmental, civic and business groups, we applaud Governor Hochul and MTA leadership following the announcement of the Transit Mobility Review Board (TMRB). The key to ensuring safer, more reliable, efficient, and accessible public transportation, as well as cleaner air, less traffic congestion, and safer roads is through a swift implementation of congestion pricing. Congestion pricing is expected to generate 15 billion dollars, thus allowing the MTA to complete its essential capital program to remedy longstanding issues plaguing our public transit systems. We look forward to the TMRB undertaking a thorough analysis of the program and ultimately reaching the same conclusion as our coalition…we need to hold the line on exemptions if we are going to achieve the goals of the program enacted into law by the NY State Legislature.”
