In just a few months, the Flynn-led DOT has moved with remarkable speed. Major transit-priority street redesigns are underway on Fordham Road, Flatbush Avenue, and Madison Avenue, with transformative projects announced for Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, Linden Boulevard in Brooklyn and Queens, 72nd Street on the Upper West Side, 31st Street in Queens, and Park Avenue. The agency has also launched a citywide pothole repair effort, recorded historic lows in traffic deaths, created a new Office of Curb Management, and lowered speed limits to 15 mph in school zones.
Please join us as Commissioner Flynn and Sam Schwartz consider what has driven this early momentum and success, as well as the agency’s broader vision for a safer, healthier, more livable, and more affordable city for all.
Hosted by The Sam Schwartz Transportation Research Program at Roosevelt House and CIVITAS, with support from RPA and other organizations.
