MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, NJ has been confirmed as the host of seven FIFA World Cup games as well as the Final set for Summer 2026. This event will be unlike any other we’ve had. In addition to the games hosted at MetLife, there will be an additional 13 games over five weeks, all hosted in locations within a day’s trip from the region. Not since the 1964-65 World’s Fair have we hosted such a truly global event.
Regional Plan Association (RPA) has invited panelists from other regions and countries that have hosted World Cups and similarly-sized events to discuss the planning and coordination and the legacy that the World Cup leaves behind in the host countries. Please join us for a conversation about the challenges and opportunities that come with hosting a World Cup.
