The city of Paterson, in partnership with Regional Plan Association, Passaic County, New Jersey Community Development Corporation, The Paterson Museum, and The National Park Service, are hosting the Paterson Preservation Fair on Saturday, June 3rd, 11AM - 3PM. Join us at Mary Ellen Kramer Park in Paterson, NJ for a free event celebrating our multicultural heritage through food, art, oral histories, talks, and other family-friendly activities!
The Preservation Fair will feature food trucks and a DJ. Check out an exhibit on the Great Falls from the Paterson Museum, or visit booths and tables with activities and handouts. The Paterson Historic Preservation Commission will be sharing some of the history of Paterson through stories and brochures.
Several free tours will be available in and around the park.

- 12:00PM - Paterson Downtown Architecture Tour – Join us with special guest and author Richard Polton, for a guided walking tour of Paterson’s historic downtown buildings of early 20th century designed by local architect Fred Wesley Wentworth
- 12:30PM and 2:00PM - An Olmsted Tour featuring Garret Mountain Reservation. Did you know that Garret Mountain Reservation was inspired by the man who designed Central Park in New York? Join us on June 3rd at 12:30PM or 2:00PM for a walking tour to learn how Frederick Law Olmsted’s vision for public parks inspired Passaic County to establish its own Park System.
- 12:30PM and 3:00PM - Join Executive Director of the Paterson Historic Preservation Commission, Gianfranco Archimede, on a walking tour of Hinchliffe Stadium, one of the last remaining Negro Leagues stadiums in the United States. The tour will focus on restoration efforts and the history of its construction.
- 1:00PM - African American Heritage Bus Tour. Join us for a guided bus tour narrated by Jimmy Richardson on Paterson’s most notable African American historic sites.
- 1:00PM - Behind the Scenes of Lambert Castle. Take a behind the scenes tour of the restoration project work at Lambert Castle and its Carriage House.
- The National Park Service will be providing free tours at 11:00AM and 2:00PM, each concluding with a walk over to the Paterson Museum.
- The Paterson Museum will be leading a guided tour from Mary Ellen Kramer Park to the Museum at 1:30pm, and the Museum will be open for 9:30AM - 4:30PM for self-guided tours.
Mary Ellen Kramer Park is a 20-minute walk from the Paterson train station. Parking is available at the parking deck adjacent to Hinchliffe Stadium, entrance at Jaspar Street. Free overflow parking is also available at the Paterson Museum at 2 Market Street and at the surface lot at 3 Market Street, just past the corner of Market and Spruce. Parking is first-come first-served.
