Across the world, the pandemic has transformed the use of city streets to encompass a wide range of functions beyond serving vehicles. Many streets became public open space to serve community needs. More people took up biking for transit and recreation. Many cities and towns allowed outdoor dining so restaurants could continue to serve customers safely. The transformation of our streets is already delivering benefits yet many challenges remain.
Join RPA as we build off our discussion at the 2021 Assembly about designing streets for recovery, growth, and equity and engage with experts on what the future of our streets can look like and how we can leverage this moment to enact lasting change.
