Statement from RPA President & CEO Tom Wright:

RPA is pleased that the New York State budget keeps MTA transit service funded for the foreseeable future and expands subway service. Without these measures, it would be impossible for the nation’s largest transit agency to function effectively.

We had high hopes that this year’s budget would address other issues, especially the desperate need to address the region’s housing crisis and the NY Heat program. Without progress in these areas New York will not maintain its leadership status on equity and climate and therefore we will continue to push for these proposals throughout the rest of the legislative cycle.
