Joint Statement on Congestion Pricing Environmental Review

share

New York, NY - Joint Statement on behalf of Environmental Defense Fund, NYC Environmental Justice Alliance, Regional Plan Association, Rider’s Alliance, and Tri-State Transportation Campaign.

“We applaud Governor Hochul, MTA Chair Janno Lieber, and the Federal Highway Administration for coming together to resolve the outstanding issues holding up the environmental assessment. It is critical that the program is approved and implemented in the current timeline, with the EA being approved later this year and congestion pricing starting in early 2023. Congestion pricing is a key to New York City’s recovery, to achieving our great transit infrastructure needs, and to improving air quality, particularly in environmental justice communities. No more delays!”
