Regional Plan Association (RPA) and the Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS) invite the public to join us for a conversation on a topic we know is of critical importance to our region: how do we expand capacity at, and improve, New York Penn Station?
Amtrak, the MTA, and New Jersey Transit will present new analysis regarding possibilities for expanding regional rail capacity at the station, including converting the station to an all through-running operation. The presentation will be followed by a moderated panel discussion with the three railroads, and time for audience questions.
New York Penn Station is a critical component of the Gateway Program which will transform and modernize the region’s transportation infrastructure, providing improved service to the hundreds of thousands of trans-Hudson riders. As advocates for the Gateway Program and as civic leaders, RPA and MAS welcome the public to engage in this conversation highlighting the importance of the Gateway Program and what it means for expanding capacity and improving New York Penn Station.
Coffee and light refreshments will be provided from 8:30-9am.
PRESS/MEDIA: Members of the press are welcome to ask questions during the Q&A. If you are a member of the press interested in joining this event, please send an RSVP email to Dr. Sam Bowden Akbari, RPA’s Director of Communications: [email protected] for more details. Press credentials will be required for entry.
