Before an audience of over 400 civid and industry leaders, New York City Transit President Andy Byford presented Fast Forward for the first time, a comprehensive plan to fix New York’s subways and buses. In partnership with the NYU Rudin Center for Transportation Policy and Management and a dozen other organizations, RPA welcomed Byford, who spoke confidently about how the agency plans to turnaround the transit system over the next decade.
Byford presented plans for every aspect of New York City transit, including equity and accessibility issues facing riders and employees. Shortly after his presentation, he joined a panel discussion with experts from the civic sector, including RPA President Tom Wright, which explored into the details of the plan, including specific plans to cover accessibility, and how business and tech industries could contribute to Fast Forward.
