Mihir Zaveri is a New York Times reporter covering regional affordability and quality of life issues. Through a lens examining New York City’s struggle with high costs of living, an ever-tightening housing crisis, the evolution of the city’s neighborhoods, the economics of development, and the odd ways we all live together in this tiny patch of land that contains America’s biggest metropolis, Mihir has cultivated a wide readership and is widely respected for his coverage and perspective.

Before joining The Times in 2018, Mihir lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Houston. In his decade of experience reporting, Mihir finds that investigating housing affordability is one of the best ways to really understand a place. Moderating his first RPA Assembly plenary, he looks forward to digging into the housing crisis and probing the illustrious panel for how we can best fix it.
