Mr. Porcari is an Operating Partner of Corsair Infrastructure and is based in Washington D.C. He is a board member of Corsair portfolio company Vantage Airport Group. Mr. Porcari is the former Port Envoy to the Biden-Harris Administration Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force and the former President of US Advisory Services for WSP, a global professional services, planning, engineering, and construction services firm. He also served as Interim Executive Director of the Gateway Program Development Corporation, the entity charged with designing, financing and constructing the Gateway program of projects in the NY/NJ metropolitan area.
Mr. Porcari previously served for four and a half years as Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Transportation. As Deputy Secretary, John served as the department’s Chief Operating Officer, with day-to-day responsibility for DOT’s 10 operating administrations, 55,000 employees worldwide, and $70 billion operating budget.
Prior to being nominated by President Obama and unanimously confirmed by the Senate as DOT Deputy Secretary, Mr. Porcari twice served as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation, leading the only state-level DOT that includes statewide transit, aviation, port, highway, rail, bridge and tunnel authority and motor vehicle licensing modes. Mr. Porcari also served as CFO and COO of the University of Maryland, as well as a variety of economic development positions at the local and state government levels.
