Jed is principal of Two Trees Management, one of New York’s most innovative developers of vibrant, mixed-use communities. Under Jed’s leadership, Two Trees has grown from its roots as the firm that helped make DUMBO a 24/7 destination to oversee a portfolio of more than 4 million square feet of commercial and residential real estate.

Jed has committed his life’s work to making New York a better place to live, work and visit to ensure the ongoing health of the city he calls home. Two Trees’ approach to urban development is evident at the Domino Sugar Factory redevelopment, which brings together the award-winning Domino Park, well-designed, integrated mixed-income housing, state-of-the-art office space, locally-based retail and established and emerging artists. Other key projects include Mercedes House, 300 Ashland, and The Wythe Hotel, among many others.

Jed’s newest project is River Ring, which proposes a 6-acre waterfront park – 3 acres of protected in-water access and 3-acres of public space that will bring a first-of-its-kind beach-like experience to the East River – and nearly 1,050 new units of housing with 263 deeply affordable units to the North Williamsburg waterfront at a former Con Edison site.

Jed is an active philanthropist, supporting dozens of community organizations and leaders, educational and cultural institutions, and artists in Brooklyn and throughout New York City. In 2019, Jed launched The David Prize, named after his father David Walentas, which gives $1 million per year to New York City’s unrecognized entrepreneurs who are helping the city become a better, brighter place.
