The Federal Census of 1940 has revealed throughout the country important changes in population trends and shifts within the metropolitan centers. Those parts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut focused around the Port of New York have been vitally affected by these trends.
Their effect is graphically depicted by maps and diagrams in this Bulletin and new estimates are presented of the probable future growth by counties and parts of counties making up New York and Its Environs.
