Leaders of prominent New York civic groups, including RPA President Tom Wright, co-signed a letter to Mayor Bill de Blasio identifying seven steps the city can take to ensure freedom of expression in public plazas and spaces. Recommendations include funding the public plaza program, expanding space at popular protest sites, expanding weekend street programs and pedestrinizing 5th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.
