Groups to jointly host a discussion of new plan tomorrow May 24th, event is already at capacity
NEW YORK— Civic, environmental, business and tech groups today released a joint-statement in reaction to NYC Transit’s new corporate action plan. These groups and others will co-host a discussion of the plan with NYCT President Andy Byford tomorrow morning. The event, co-organized by Regional Plan Association and The NYU Rudin Center for Transportation is near capacity with over 500 people signed up to learn more about the plan.
“We applaud NYC Transit for creating a plan that focuses on high impact solutions to our biggest transit challenges. The ‘Fast Forward’ plan is also a roadmap to modernizing the agency to allow it to deliver the kind of high-quality service that befits a region that is powered by transit and the millions of riders who want and deserve better. It deserves the full support of the Governor and State legislators to make sure that the NYCT has what it needs to provide these improvements, and to use the milestones and timelines in the plan to hold the agency accountable for delivering.”
